For the City of Fort Myers – The City of Fort Myers is replacing storm drainage on McGregor Boulevard from Colonial Boulevard to Poinciana Avenue. In addition to replacing the existing pipes, the project will resurface the roadway, replace sidewalk where disturbed by pipe replacement, replace some signage, and update crosswalks with new striping and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations. The final product will not change the “look” of McGregor Boulevard as it is today.
Beginning Monday, March 27th, motorists should expect lane shifts just north of the Winkler Canal (near Vesper Drive) and just north of the Carrell Canal (near Gasparilla Drive).
Some sidewalks may be closed within the project area and pedestrians and bicyclists may be detoured. This schedule may be subject to change due to inclement weather and unforeseen underground conditions. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution. The project is anticipated to be completed in fall 2018.
